Isaiah 65:24 Meaning It Will Happen That Before They Call

It will happen that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

What does Isaiah 65:24 mean?

The answer is already on its way before the asking is even finished. A need and its meeting stand closer than a person expects, so near that the reply comes to meet the words halfway.

Cybernetics

The answer is already on its way before the asking is even finished. A need and its meeting stand closer than a person expects, so near that the reply comes to meet the words halfway. What a man reaches for with a settled heart is met, not held at a cold distance.

The deeper mind responds faster than the anxious surface believes. When someone stops straining to be heard and rests in the expectation of being met, the gap between wanting and receiving narrows. Help was already moving. A readiness like this answers a person almost before he has spoken.

  1. Instead of rehearsing how to ask for the thing you need, try sitting with it quietly for a minute as though the answer is already coming toward you.
  2. When someone starts to tell you something hard, let them see you are already listening before they finish. Put the phone face down and turn toward them.
  3. In the middle of the pressure, stop straining to be heard for a moment. Ask for what you need in plain words, then let the asking be enough.

What am I straining to get heard about, when help may already be moving?

The longing you feel is already the answer finding you. What you seek has been seeking you the whole time.

Zen

The student travels far to ask the question and the master points at the ground beneath his feet. The distance was in the asking, not in the thing.
