Jeremiah 18:1 Meaning The Word Which Came to Jeremiah From

The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

What does Jeremiah 18:1 mean?

A word coming from the LORD is a movement rising within a man's own depth, the creative impulse stirring before it has taken any outer shape. What follows in this chapter is the potter at his wheel, and the potter is imagination, the potter's house is your own being, the wheel is the turning of your thought.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

A word coming from the LORD is a movement rising within a man's own depth, the creative impulse stirring before it has taken any outer shape. What follows in this chapter is the potter at his wheel, and the potter is imagination, the potter's house is your own being, the wheel is the turning of your thought. The word arrives first because every reshaping of a life starts as an inner prompting felt from within.

So the opening is not a note about a prophet receiving a message. It is the account of how the creative power in a person first speaks: quietly, inwardly, ahead of any evidence. A man hears it as a desire or a knowing, and that inner speech is the clay already beginning to move. What is felt within becomes the condition met without.

Live Jeremiah 18:1 today

  1. First thing today, before the phone, sit still long enough to catch what you actually want. Not the task list, the quiet pull underneath it.
  2. When a friend says something stirred in them, take it seriously instead of asking for proof. Treat the early, unprovable feeling as real.
  3. In a meeting where everyone is reacting to what already happened, hold one quiet sense of how you would have it go. Let that be where you speak from.

What has been stirring in me that I keep waiting for evidence to allow?

Tao Te Ching

Everything that becomes visible begins in what cannot be seen. The quiet source moves first and the shape follows.

Zen · Dogen

Dogen said that to study the way is to study the self. What you are looking for moves first inside the one who is looking.

Taoism · Chuang Tzu

The stirring comes before the form. What has not yet taken shape is where the shaping happens.
