EGO & BEING
The mind rushes to defend itself and insist it is right. The moment you try to prove yourself perfect, something in you knows it is not true, and the effort collapses. This is the ego, forever polishing an image of who you think you are.
The self that needs defending is not real. It is a construction of thought, and every attempt to justify it only binds you tighter to it. When you stop needing to be right about who you are, the mind has nothing left to defend, and its habit of turning against you grows quiet.
Ego v. Being lens
