John 1:16 Meaning From His Fullness We All Received Grace

From his fullness we all received grace upon grace.

What does John 1:16 mean?

What love gives, it gives completely, and every mind draws from the same fullness without diminishing it in the least. There is no shortage to divide, no portion one mind must lose so another may have.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

What love gives, it gives completely, and every mind draws from the same fullness without diminishing it in the least. There is no shortage to divide, no portion one mind must lose so another may have. Grace answers grace because love is not a limited supply but a wholeness that increases as it is shared, met in the receiver by the very thing it offers.

So the mind never has to compete for what it needs, never has to take from another to be filled. The belief in lack was the whole of the ego's fear, and here that belief simply dissolves. To receive from love is to find there was always enough, and that giving and having were never opposed.

  1. Today, when you scroll and feel that small sting at someone else's good news, let it pass without a story. Their job, their trip, their family took nothing out of your account.
  2. Say the generous thing out loud to someone, the credit, the compliment, the recommendation you have been quietly keeping. It costs you nothing and it is exactly what they needed.
  3. In a meeting where credit or budget is being handed out, try asking what makes this work instead of what makes me look good. You will leave with more, not less.

Where have you been treating someone else's good as a bite taken out of yours?

The source is like an empty vessel that pours out endlessly and is never drained. Draw from it all you want and it is not reduced.

A lamp loses nothing when it lights another lamp. The second flame takes nothing from the first, and now the room is brighter.

What is good for one part of a whole is good for the whole. Treating another's gain as your loss means you have misunderstood what you belong to.
