John 10:33 Meaning The Jews Answered Him
The Jews answered him, “We don’t stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God.”

John 10:33 · World English Bible
The Jews answered him, “We don’t stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God.”
The charge of blasphemy is the mind's old refusal to hear that man himself is the power he has been worshipping. To say a man makes himself God sounds like an outrage only to the state that still pictures God as someone else, somewhere else.
From the Manifestation reading below.
The same verse, read by one tradition.

MANIFESTATION
The charge of blasphemy is the mind's old refusal to hear that man himself is the power he has been worshipping. To say a man makes himself God sounds like an outrage only to the state that still pictures God as someone else, somewhere else. The awareness of being in each person is that very power, and to claim it is not arrogance but recognition of what was always so.
The stones are the reaction of everything in a person that clings to smallness, that would rather kill the thought than let it stand. This resistance is not an enemy from outside; it is the state a person passes through on the way to accepting his own identity. What the crowd calls blasphemy is the one truth the whole account was written to deliver. The man is not reaching above himself; he is at last naming what he is.

What would you have to stop apologizing for, to be what you already are?
The great saying is simply this: you are that. Not a copy, not a servant of it, but that itself, which is why it shocks the one who hears it.
He said that looking for God for thirty years, he found it was himself who had been searching and himself who was sought.
Your original face is not something you earn or borrow. The resistance you feel to being told so is the last of the old self holding on.
