John 14:11 Meaning Believe Me That I Am

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

What does John 14:11 mean?

The mind is asked to trust its oneness with its Source, and if it cannot yet accept this directly, it is met where it stands and offered the evidence of healing itself. The miracles that flow from love are given as a bridge, so that a mind still bound to appearances may reason its way back toward the truth it forgot.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

The mind is asked to trust its oneness with its Source, and if it cannot yet accept this directly, it is met where it stands and offered the evidence of healing itself. The miracles that flow from love are given as a bridge, so that a mind still bound to appearances may reason its way back toward the truth it forgot.

This is love's patience with fear. It does not demand belief the mind cannot yet hold, but shows what forgiveness accomplishes and lets the results teach. The mind that watches innocence heal will come, in time, to trust the Source from which such healing springs.

Works: the healings that flow from love, offered to a doubting mind as evidence when direct trust is not yet possible.

EGO & BEING

Ego v. Being

When you awaken, you sense that what you essentially are is not separate from the source of all life. The formless presence within you and the intelligence that moves the stars are one consciousness, appearing here as you. To say I am in the Father and the Father in me is to point to this: there is no boundary between your innermost Being and God.

If the mind cannot accept this directly, then look at what flows from such a state. When a person acts from deep stillness rather than from ego, the goodness of those actions reveals the source they came from.

Live John 14:11 today

  1. If trust feels out of reach today, do not try to force it. Just remember one time something worked out better than your fear predicted, and let that be enough for now.
  2. With someone who cannot believe anything good about themselves yet, do not push. Keep treating them well and let the steady kindness make the argument.
  3. When you are the doubtful one in the room, ask for something small and concrete instead of demanding certainty. Meeting yourself where you actually stand is not weakness.

What have I already seen work that I keep refusing to count as evidence?
