John 14:13 Meaning Whatever You Will Ask in My Name

Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

What does John 14:13 mean?

To ask in a name is to assume the nature that name carries, for a name is what a thing is, not a label you attach. You do not beg in this name.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

To ask in a name is to assume the nature that name carries, for a name is what a thing is, not a label you attach. You do not beg in this name. You wear it. When you take on the feeling of the state you desire, you have asked in its name. The awareness of being that you are does the rest and brings it forth.

The Father is that awareness, the I AM within, and the Son is the state it produces, the fulfilled desire made visible. The Father is glorified in the Son when the inner assumption shows itself outwardly, when what you claimed to be reveals itself as your life. So the asking and the doing are one movement in you. You become the thing in feeling, your own awareness gives it form, and the unseen power is honoured in the seen result it has borne.

CYBERNETICS

Cybernetics

A request made in his name is a request made from his settled certainty, and that certainty is what carries it through. The words "in my name" mark the state a person is asking from, not a phrase tacked onto the end. When someone pictures the outcome with the same trust that governs him, the goal-striving machinery inside goes to work and moves toward what was pictured.

The promise runs to its last clause. What returns to the asker is meant to shine back on the source that answered, the way a healed patient becomes living proof of the surgeon's skill. A man who asks in doubt asks in a different name and gets a different result. When he asks from the felt assurance that it is already so, the answer arrives and glorifies the power that produced it.

Live John 14:13 today

  1. Take one thing you want and spend a minute today wearing it rather than asking for it. How you sit, how you breathe, the ease in your face.
  2. In your next conversation, speak as the person who already has the thing settled. Not boastful, just unhurried, the way people sound when they are not worried.
  3. When a stressful message lands, before you reply, take on the feeling of the version where this is already resolved. Write from there.

Am I asking for this, or am I quietly wearing it?

What a person is made of in his own depths is what he comes to. The inner nature is not a request, it is the seed.

If you want to be a certain kind of person, carry yourself as that person now. The outward life is the display of what you have taken on.
