John 14:31 Meaning But That the World May Know

But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father commanded me, even so I do. Arise, let’s go from here.

What does John 14:31 mean?

To love the Father is to be at one with the source of life that lives through you, the deeper intelligence that moves the breath and the seasons without effort. When you act from that place, there is no separate self weighing what it wants against what it must do.

Ego v. Being

To love the Father is to be at one with the source of life that lives through you, the deeper intelligence that moves the breath and the seasons without effort. When you act from that place, there is no separate self weighing what it wants against what it must do. The doing simply happens, clean and whole, and the world sees a person who is not divided against himself.

Arise, let us go hence. He does not brace against what is coming. He meets the next moment already surrendered to it, so what he faces cannot break him. When you stop resisting what life asks of you now, action flows without inner struggle, and that is what freedom actually looks like.

Live John 14:31 today

  1. Pick the one thing you have been dreading and begin it today without the inner speech about how much you do not want to. Just stand up and start, and let the doing be simpler than the dread was.
  2. When someone asks you for help at a bad moment, either say a clear yes or a clear no. Half doing it while resenting it is the division that wears you out.
  3. Walking into a hard meeting or a difficult call, stop bracing. Take one breath, let your body soften, and meet it already willing to be in it.

Where are you doing the thing while secretly fighting it, and what would it feel like to stop fighting?
