John 15:26 Meaning When the Counselor Has Come

When the Counselor has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me.

What does John 15:26 mean?

There is a voice within the mind that answers fear without ever fighting it, and its whole work is to remind the mind of what is true when the ego has grown loud. It is called a comforter because it does not accuse; it consoles by correcting the error gently and leaving the innocence intact.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

There is a voice within the mind that answers fear without ever fighting it, and its whole work is to remind the mind of what is true when the ego has grown loud. It is called a comforter because it does not accuse; it consoles by correcting the error gently and leaving the innocence intact.

This voice does not invent its message but carries what love has always said, testifying not to itself but to the presence of love the mind had forgotten. A mind that grows quiet enough to hear it finds it was never truly alone in the dream, and that the answer it needed was already speaking underneath its fear.

Comforter: the voice for love within the mind that corrects error without accusing and restores the sense of innocence Spirit of truth: the same gentle Answer, carrying what love has always said and pointing the mind back to it Father: the Source of love from which that voice proceeds and to which it returns the mind

EGO & BEING

Ego v. Being

Comfort here does not come as a new idea to believe. It comes as a Spirit of truth, and truth is what stays once the frightened mind stops spinning its stories. This presence flows from the still source of everything, into the space that opens when a person grows quiet.

What it points to is not far. It confirms the awake life the teacher carried, the same depth sleeping in the one who listens. When the noise settles, this quiet witness rises on its own. A person stops arguing about the truth and begins to feel it.

ESOTERIC

Esoteric

The Comforter is the stimulation of the hippocampus that restores lost memory, sent from the Father, which is the right hemisphere of the brain. It proceeds from that right side as the Spirit of truth and its whole office is to bear witness, to make the inner presence remembered and recognized. Seeing the inner me in Jesus is exactly this testimony, memory waking to the God that has been indwelling all along.

What happens in a person is the return of what was forgotten. The hippocampus is stirred, the buried knowing of the indwelling spirit comes back, and that recovered memory is itself the witness that the presence is real and within.

Hippocampus: the memory center whose stimulation restores what was lost, the Comforter's true seat Father: the right hemisphere of the brain, the source from which the Spirit of truth proceeds

Live John 15:26 today

  1. When you are alone and your mind starts running the worst case, do not argue with it. Sit for one minute with your phone face down and listen for the quieter thought underneath, the one that is not scolding you.
  2. When someone tells you what they did wrong, be the gentle voice instead of the accusing one. Say the true thing without the sting, and let them keep their dignity while you do it.
  3. In a tense meeting or a thread that is getting sharp, wait three breaths before you reply. The first answer in your chest is usually fear talking; the second one is usually kinder and truer.

The sage does not speak first or loudest, yet nothing true is left unsaid. What guides does not argue with the noise; it simply stays, and the noise wears itself out.

There is a voice that does not use words, and it was speaking long before you learned to be afraid. Quiet the shouting in the house and you will hear it in the next room.
