John 2:5 · World English Bible
His mother said to the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.”
There is a gentle authority in the mind that does not argue with love's instruction but simply carries it out. The ego wants to understand first, to weigh the command against its own judgment and obey only what it has approved.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
There is a gentle authority in the mind that does not argue with love's instruction but simply carries it out. The ego wants to understand first, to weigh the command against its own judgment and obey only what it has approved. But the deeper counsel says something simpler: whatever love directs, do it, without setting your own fear in its path.
To tell the servants this is to instruct the willing, practical parts of the mind to follow the awakened teacher without hesitation. A mind that stops negotiating with love's guidance, and lets it act through willing hands, finds that what seemed empty is quietly made new.
His mother: the part of the mind that trusts love completely and points the rest toward it. The servants: the willing, obedient faculties of the mind that carry out what love directs, once they stop insisting on their own judgment first.
