John 4:32 Meaning But He Said to Them

But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you don’t know about.”

What does John 4:32 mean?

The meat is an inner nourishment, a truth taken in and lived from, unknown to those who feed only on what the senses hand them. Imagination has fed on a state assumed and satisfying, and it needs nothing the outer world can bring.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The meat is an inner nourishment, a truth taken in and lived from, unknown to those who feed only on what the senses hand them. Imagination has fed on a state assumed and satisfying, and it needs nothing the outer world can bring. To dwell in the feeling of the wish fulfilled is to be already fed, whatever the table outside shows.

Those around have no idea of this food because they measure fullness by facts. But a person who has accepted the desired state as his own is sustained from within, drawing on his own awareness rather than on circumstance. The hidden meat is the assumption held and enjoyed until it is done. One who eats it hungers no longer for the thing outside, because he has taken it in as himself.

Live John 4:32 today

  1. Eat one meal today without your phone, and let the quiet satisfaction of just that come from inside you rather than from anything you are scrolling.
  2. At dinner or on a call, go a whole conversation without mentioning what is missing from your life, and let yourself feel full while you talk.
  3. When a number at work comes in lower than you hoped, hold the inner sense of being already provided for and make your next decision from that fullness rather than from the shortfall.

What would change today if I stopped waiting to be fed from outside?

Tao Te Ching 33

The one who knows he has enough is already rich. Fullness is a condition a person carries, not an amount the world delivers.

Buddhism · Dhammapada

Contentment is the greatest wealth. A mind at rest is nourished where a craving mind stays hungry at a full table.

Stoicism · Seneca

It is not the poor man who has little but the one who always wants more. The satisfied person needs nothing from fortune to be fed.
