John 6:40 Meaning This Is the Will of the One

This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

What does John 6:40 mean?

The Son is the being taking shape inside a person, his own imagination awakening as the creative power he is. To see the Son is to recognize that power as oneself, and to believe on him is to trust the inner act over the report of the senses.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The Son is the being taking shape inside a person, his own imagination awakening as the creative power he is. To see the Son is to recognize that power as oneself, and to believe on him is to trust the inner act over the report of the senses. Everlasting life belongs to the one who makes that recognition, for he has found the source that never dies in him.

The last day is no calendar date. It is the end of a state, the moment an assumption held to completion breaks into fact and lifts the person into the fulfilled condition. What he saw within and trusted is brought up into his world when its term is finished. A wish accepted as already so is resurrected as circumstance at its own ripening, and the one who held it enters the life he claimed.

Live John 6:40 today

  1. Sometime today, catch the fact that you are the one doing the imagining and not just the one being pushed around by circumstances. Thirty seconds of recognizing that changes the posture of the whole day.
  2. When someone tells you how things obviously are, listen without arguing, then quietly keep your own inner picture. You can be kind to the report and still not be ruled by it.
  3. When a screen delivers bad news, a bank balance, a test result, a message you were dreading, pause before reacting. Ask what you still trust on the inside, and act from that instead of from the notification.

Which do I actually trust more right now, the picture inside me or the report on the screen?

Upanishads

That which you are seeking is what you are. To see it is not to acquire something new but to recognize the one who was looking.

Zen

The teachers say to see your own nature directly, trusting what is seen inwardly over what the eyes and the common report insist on.

Taoism · Zhuangzi

He tells of a butterfly dream and asks who is dreaming whom. The one imagining is nearer to the source than the scene being imagined.
