You may know my name, my history, the town I came from. That is the surface, the personality, the story the mind can hold. But it is not the source. The one who speaks does not arise from himself, from any separate little self. There is a deeper origin, present and real, and it moves through the form without being trapped in it.
When a life is lived from that origin rather than from the anxious "me" and its plans, something true speaks through it. Most cannot perceive this, because they know only the outer man and have never grown quiet enough to sense the aliveness underneath. You recognize the source not by learning more facts, but by becoming still enough to feel the same presence in yourself.
