What holds a mind in guilt is not its errors but its insistence that it is already right. If it knew it could not see, it would ask to be taught, and the asking would let correction in and the guilt fall away.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
What holds a mind in guilt is not its errors but its insistence that it is already right. If it knew it could not see, it would ask to be taught, and the asking would let correction in and the guilt fall away. But the mind that declares its own sight complete refuses the very help that would free it, and so the sense of sin remains, not because love withholds forgiveness but because the mind has bolted the door against it. Guilt is never kept in place by the wrong itself; it is kept by the refusal to let the wrong be looked at and undone. The one thing that could lift it is the honest admission that it has not yet learned to see.
There is no figure to decode here; the images are seeing and blindness themselves, whose meaning the reading has already unfolded.
Christian Psychology lens
What am I defending that would get lighter the second I admitted it?
Knowing that you do not know is health, and thinking you know is the illness. The cure begins the moment you admit the gap.
The one who is ashamed to ask will never learn, while the one who asks freely keeps growing. Pride is the only thing standing between a person and being taught.
Suffering does not end by being defended, it ends by being looked at clearly. What stays hidden stays heavy.
