Luke 20:34 Meaning Jesus Said to Them

Jesus said to them, “The children of this age marry, and are given in marriage.

What does Luke 20:34 mean?

The children of this world are those who take the outer facts as final and live entirely by them. To marry, in this saying, is to bind oneself to appearances, to wed the mind to what the senses report and reproduce more of the same.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The children of this world are those who take the outer facts as final and live entirely by them. To marry, in this saying, is to bind oneself to appearances, to wed the mind to what the senses report and reproduce more of the same. Such a person accepts the given conditions as the whole story and spends his life multiplying them.

The married mind is the mind fused to circumstance, generating its future from the present as it stands. It cannot conceive a state unlike the one before it, because it has joined itself to the visible and asks nothing beyond it. A man tied to the facts of this world can only breed the facts of this world. Whoever lives wholly by appearances marries them, and the offspring of that union is always more of what already is.
