Luke 22:10 Meaning He Said to Them

He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters.

What does Luke 22:10 mean?

The man carrying the pitcher is the water-bearer, the sign of the age turning overhead as the heavens move into a new season of consciousness. Following him is following that inward current, for the house is the body and the kingdom he leads into is found not in ritual but in silent meditation, seeking within.

The man carrying the pitcher is the water-bearer, the sign of the age turning overhead as the heavens move into a new season of consciousness. Following him is following that inward current, for the house is the body and the kingdom he leads into is found not in ritual but in silent meditation, seeking within. What religion reads as a scene in a street is the map of a shift written in the stars and repeating now inside anyone who follows the water home.

The pitcher of water: the living stream of awareness the old writers hid in every well and river, poured through a still person. The house: the body itself, the inner room where the kingdom is entered. The city: the crowded field of thoughts and habits a person must pass through to reach the quiet within.

Live Luke 22:10 today

  1. Today, when a small pull of quiet comes, a moment where you want to stop and breathe, follow it instead of overriding it. Give it five minutes and see where it goes.
  2. When someone brings you something real today, follow their lead instead of steering. Let the conversation go where it was already headed.
  3. In the thick of the noisiest part of your day, the open-plan office, the crowded train, the busy kitchen, walk through it without fighting it, and keep one thread of attention on your own breathing.

What have I been looking for out there that was waiting at home in me?

Water takes the lowest place and never argues with the ground, and that is why nothing overcomes it. Follow the current instead of planning the route.

After all the walking, the gate you were looking for was your own. You go through the town to arrive where you live.
