Luke 23:35 Meaning The People Stood Watching
The people stood watching. The rulers with them also scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others. Let him save himself, if this is the Christ of God, his chosen one!”

The ego always demands the wrong proof. It sneers that one who saved others should save himself, meaning: rescue the body, escape the cross, and then we will believe.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
The ego always demands the wrong proof. It sneers that one who saved others should save himself, meaning: rescue the body, escape the cross, and then we will believe. But this misreads salvation entirely. The self that love came to save was never the body, and stepping down would only have agreed that the body is where reality lies.
The refusal to save himself is the very proof the mockers cannot read. The watching crowd and jeering rulers are the parts of a mind that accept only what the eyes can measure, calling for a spectacle and missing the miracle.
The people: the passive part of the mind that merely watches and waits to be convinced. The rulers: the scornful part of the mind that demands outward proof before it will believe.
Christian Psychology lens
What am I refusing to believe because it will not perform for me?
The great way looks like nothing much, and those who demand a spectacle laugh and walk away, which is exactly how it stays hidden from them.
A finger pointing at the moon is not the moon, and a mind that insists on grabbing the finger will never look up.
That which is real was never born and cannot be destroyed, so no outward rescue of the body proves anything about it.
