CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

While a mind is still turning its grief over in argument, unconvinced and full of questions, the presence it thinks is absent is already walking beside it. Love does not wait for the reasoning to finish. It draws near in the middle of the confusion, unrecognized but there.

The companion on the road is the other Teacher, who does not stand apart until the mind has sorted itself out but joins it exactly where it walks. A mind need not resolve its doubts to be accompanied. The presence it seeks has already closed the distance, keeping pace with it long before it knows who is there.

The road: the journey of a mind still working through its grief, the way it walks while reasoning toward what it cannot yet see The one who draws near: the Teacher of love who joins the mind in its confusion, the presence that closes the distance before it is known

ESOTERIC

The awakened presence enters exactly in the act of sincere inner reasoning, drawing near while the mind is turned over in honest search. The 2 on the road are faculties of one person walking and questioning together, and the Christ that joins them is the higher self, the anointed awareness that appears not by being summoned from far off but by rising within the very motion of thought reaching for truth. Reasoning here is the doorway; while the parts of the self commune and weigh, the presence closes the distance and walks as one of them, unrecognized at first because it comes from inside the conversation, not down a separate road.

The nearness is the point: honest inner searching is itself the condition under which the deeper self shows up. The seeking mind does not travel toward the presence; the presence forms in the seeking.

Jesus: the anointed higher awareness within a person, the Christ-self that rises into thought when the mind turns honestly toward truth.

  1. You do not need to have your head sorted out before you take a walk, eat a real meal, or go to bed. Let yourself be looked after while the questions are still open.
  2. When someone you love is mid spiral on the phone, resist the urge to fix it and just stay on the line. Keeping company is the help, even when nothing gets solved.
  3. On a hard commute, stop trying to think your way to peace before you get there. Let the drive or the train ride be allowed to hold you unfinished.

What are you waiting to figure out before you let yourself be accompanied?
