The first word love speaks to a mind still bent over its work is that there is nothing to be afraid of, and everything in that mind changes on the strength of it. Fear had defined the whole task, the long empty night of striving to pull worth up out of the deep.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
The first word love speaks to a mind still bent over its work is that there is nothing to be afraid of, and everything in that mind changes on the strength of it. Fear had defined the whole task, the long empty night of striving to pull worth up out of the deep. Now the labor is given a new purpose, and the hands that grasped at fish are told they will gather what is living instead.
This is the turn from getting to giving. A mind released from fear no longer works to fill its own lack but to reach others and draw them toward the light it has found. The catch is no longer a thing seized from the dark but a kinship recognized, and the work becomes the quiet extending of the safety just received.
Fishermen: parts of the mind long laboring to draw value out of the deep, now called to a gentler work Fish: what the striving self once tried to seize and keep, worth wrestled from the dark Men: the brothers a healed mind now reaches and gathers, no longer prizes to be taken but companions to be found
Christian Psychology lens
What were you given recently that was meant to be passed along rather than kept?
The mind freed from fear turns naturally toward others. Compassion is not an extra duty added on, it is what remains when the grasping stops.
The sage gives and is not diminished. Pouring out turns out to be the way the cup stays full.
We were made for one another, as hands are made for hands. Work done for the common good is the only work that stops feeling like a loss.
