Death is the ego's proudest testimony, its proof that a mind can be extinguished and separation made final. Yet love walks up to the very frame that carries the belief and lays a hand on it without fear, and the fear itself, the crowd that bears the weight, falls still.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
Death is the ego's proudest testimony, its proof that a mind can be extinguished and separation made final. Yet love walks up to the very frame that carries the belief and lays a hand on it without fear, and the fear itself, the crowd that bears the weight, falls still. The command is not to the body but to the mind that has agreed to lie down in guilt as though it were finished.
A mind convinced it is dead to its own worth waits only for one word from the other Teacher. Arise means the sleeper was never truly asleep; what looked like an ending was a choice, and choices can be made again.
Bier: the framework of belief that carries the mind's conviction that it can die, the structure that holds separation as a settled fact. Bearers: the fearful thoughts that shoulder that conviction and keep it moving, the part of the mind still committed to the funeral. Young man: the mind that has lain down in guilt and called itself finished, still whole beneath the appearance of death.

EGO & BEING
He touches the bier, and those who carry it stand still. Stillness comes first. In the presence of deep awareness, the restless movement of grief and the machinery of the mind come to rest, and something becomes possible that hurry never allows.
Young man, I say unto thee, arise. To be unconscious, lost in the dream of the thinking mind, is a kind of death while the body still breathes. Awakening is being called back to life. When presence touches you and you truly hear that call, you rise out of the sleep of identification and become fully alive in the only moment there is, which is now.

ESOTERIC
The dead man carried out for burial is a good desire, a living aim in a person that has been given up for lost and is already being carried toward the grave of forgetting. The Christ within, the awakened light, comes near and touches the frame that bears it, and at that touch the bearers stand still, for the whole restless motion of the mind halts. In that stillness alone can what was dead be called back; the command to arise works only when the inner traffic stops. Compassion and quiet together are the 2 forces that reach a buried longing and lift it back to life.
The young man is a longing still early and unfinished when it was abandoned, and the moment the mind grows still under the touch of the inner light, that longing sits up and lives again inside the person.
Bier: the frame that carries a lost desire toward the grave of forgetting within a person Young man: a good desire or aim, still early and immature, given up for dead and now called back to life
Christian Psychology lens
What part of me have I called finished without asking it?
A student asks how to wake up and the teacher says, who has bound you? The chains were an agreement, and agreements can be dropped where they were made.
What you take to be your small, dying self was never the thing that lives in you. The one who truly looks finds nothing there that can be extinguished.
You have been asleep beside the water, dreaming of thirst. The waking is not a journey, it is a turn of the head.
