Luke 7:15 Meaning He Who Was Dead Sat Up

He who was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother.

What does Luke 7:15 mean?

The one thought dead sits up, and the sitting up is the whole of it: what seemed ended was only a mind that had stopped speaking for itself. To speak again is to reclaim the voice that guilt had silenced, the acknowledgment that the self was never extinguished but merely persuaded to lie quiet.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

The one thought dead sits up, and the sitting up is the whole of it: what seemed ended was only a mind that had stopped speaking for itself. To speak again is to reclaim the voice that guilt had silenced, the acknowledgment that the self was never extinguished but merely persuaded to lie quiet. Restoration asks nothing of the body; it changes only the mind that had agreed it was gone.

And he is given back to the one who loves him. The mind healed is not left alone with its recovery but returned to relationship, for what love awakens it awakens into belonging, never into isolation.

Mother: the source of tender belonging the mind is restored to, the loving relationship that receives the awakened self rather than leaving it apart.

ESOTERIC

Esoteric

A desire long counted dead sits up and finds its voice the moment the mind has fallen still under the touch of the inner light, and speech returning is that aim becoming active and expressive again after being carried toward the grave. What raises it is not force but the quiet compassion of the Christ within meeting the longing where it lay. Then the risen desire is handed back to the mother, the spirit that first gave it, so that what was reclaimed is not kept apart but restored to its source.

The raising is an inward event: a buried aim wakes, speaks, and is returned to the spirit within a person, whole again and reunited with the source it came from.

Mother: the spirit within, the source that first gave the desire life and now receives it back restored

Live Luke 7:15 today

  1. Say the thing you have been swallowing, out loud, even if only to yourself in the car. Your voice counts as evidence that you are still here.
  2. Go back into one conversation you went silent in, and offer a real sentence of your own instead of a thumbs up. Belonging starts when you take your place in it again.
  3. When you come through something hard, do not hide the recovery. Tell one person at dinner or on a walk, and let yourself be received rather than managing it alone.

Where have I gone quiet, and who is still waiting to hear me?

Zhuangzi

The useless tree is the one left standing, and the one who recovers his own voice stops arguing for his usefulness. He simply speaks, and belongs where he is.
