Luke 7:7 · World English Bible

Luke 7:7 Meaning Therefore I Didn’t Even Think Myself Worthy

Therefore I didn’t even think myself worthy to come to you; but say the word, and my servant will be healed.

What does Luke 7:7 mean?

The whole of healing waits on a single word, and a mind that knows this stops trying to earn or arrange the cure it needs. To ask only for the word is to trust that love corrects at the level of thought, that a shift in the mind is enough and the outer condition follows, for the sickness was always in perception and never in the flesh alone.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

The whole of healing waits on a single word, and a mind that knows this stops trying to earn or arrange the cure it needs. To ask only for the word is to trust that love corrects at the level of thought, that a shift in the mind is enough and the outer condition follows, for the sickness was always in perception and never in the flesh alone.

The servant stands for whatever in the mind seems ailing and in need of rescue, and it is healed not by effort brought to it but by the mind's willingness to let love speak. A mind that asks for the word and expects no more has understood that the correction is simple, immediate, and complete the moment it is truly wanted.

Servant: the part of the mind that seems sick and in need of healing, the wounded thought love restores at a word. Word: the single act of love's correction, the shift in the mind that heals without effort or ceremony.

Live Luke 7:7 today

  1. Name the one thing in you that hurts, in a short plain sentence, and then ask for help with it instead of listing everything you have already tried.
  2. Send one message today without the long preface that justifies why you are asking. Just the ask, in a line, and then let it go.
  3. In the middle of the thing you are trying to force, pull your hands back for sixty seconds. Let the simplest honest word be enough and see what moves on its own.

Where am I working hard at something that would answer to one plain request?

Awakening does not come after years of arrangement, it arrives in an instant, and the years were only spent being willing. One word from a teacher can turn a whole life over.

Tao Te Ching

The softest thing overcomes the hardest, and what is done without force is done completely. Straining to fix a thing is usually what keeps it broken.

The cure for the pain is in the pain, and it does not wait on travel or ceremony. Say what you need simply, and stop negotiating the terms of your own healing.
