Mark 11:22 Meaning Jesus Answered Them

Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.

What does Mark 11:22 mean?

To have faith in God is not to hope that some distant power will step into the world, but to remember where reality actually rests. The mind that trusts fear has given its faith to appearances, to the seeming solidity of threat and lack, and so it lives braced against a world that looks able to harm it.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

To have faith in God is not to hope that some distant power will step into the world, but to remember where reality actually rests. The mind that trusts fear has given its faith to appearances, to the seeming solidity of threat and lack, and so it lives braced against a world that looks able to harm it.

Faith turned toward love withdraws that trust from the outer show and places it in what cannot change. A mind convinced that danger is real will defend; a mind leaning its whole weight on love no longer needs to. Faith, then, is simply the choice of which teacher to believe.

Live Mark 11:22 today

  1. Catch one worry you are rehearsing today and ask honestly whether you are trusting the worst story or the ground under your feet. Then put the phone down for five minutes.
  2. Tell one person the thing you are afraid of out loud instead of bracing against it alone. Saying it to a friendly face shrinks it to its actual size.
  3. When bad news lands mid-day, an email, a bill, a diagnosis, a tone in someone's voice, take one slow breath before you react and remember you have been held through worse.

Which teacher am I actually believing right now, fear or love?
