What does Mark 12:35 mean?

The temple where this is taught is the human body, and the question posed inside it undoes the ordinary picture. The scribes read by the letter and say Christ descends from David, the lesser from the greater by natural line.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The temple where this is taught is the human body, and the question posed inside it undoes the ordinary picture. The scribes read by the letter and say Christ descends from David, the lesser from the greater by natural line. It runs the other way. David is the son you become, the resurrected self, and Christ is the power that fathers him, so the greater is not David's ancestor but David's origin. Christ is your own imagination, and David is what that imagination brings to birth, your awakened self calling you Father.

So the son of David wording, taken flat, hides the order of things. The awakened man is not produced by the past working forward. He is produced by the creative power within, the I am, giving rise to the very self that then names him its source. Your imagination is not the offspring of who you were. It fathers who you become.

Live Mark 12:35 today

  1. Instead of planning your day from who you were yesterday, spend one minute imagining the version of you that already handles it easily, then start from there. Let the picture come first and the day second.
  2. When someone sums you up by your history, your old job, your old habits, let it pass without correcting them, and keep acting from the person you are becoming. You do not owe the past a vote.
  3. In a hard moment, ask what the calmer you would do next, and do that one thing. You are not waiting to become that person later, you are making them now.

Are you living forward from your past, or backward from who you intend to be?
