Mark 12:5 Meaning Again He Sent Another

Again he sent another; and they killed him; and many others, beating some, and killing some.

What does Mark 12:5 mean?

The attack deepens until the mind believes it can silence the call for good. One after another the reminders come, and one after another fear beats them down, certain that if it destroys the messenger it destroys the message.

Christian Psychology

The attack deepens until the mind believes it can silence the call for good. One after another the reminders come, and one after another fear beats them down, certain that if it destroys the messenger it destroys the message. This is the ego's oldest hope, that guilt can be made permanent by killing whatever would undo it.

But what love sends cannot be ended by being struck; it can only be refused a while longer. The long roll of wounded and slain messengers is the record of a mind postponing its own peace, not the record of a truth that was ever actually lost.

Servant: each reminder love keeps sending, the many calls a frightened mind tries to put to death Husbandmen: the ego convinced it can end correction by destroying the one who brings it

Live Mark 12:5 today

  1. Name one change you have been putting off for years, the one you keep burying. Do the smallest real piece of it today, in the next hour.
  2. Tell one person the thing you keep almost saying. Not the whole speech, just the first true sentence.
  3. When the familiar excuse shows up in a busy moment, too tired, too late, not now, let it come and go without obeying it. The excuse does not have to be fought, only not followed.

How long have I been postponing something that was never going to go away?

Tao Te Ching 41

What is true can be laughed at, ignored, and buried, and it remains true. Mockery delays nothing but your own arrival.

Bhagavad Gita 2

What is real cannot be destroyed; only what was never real passes. You can refuse it, but you cannot end it.

Stoicism · Seneca

Every day you postpone your own peace is a day spent, not saved. The delay is the only loss.
