Mark 5:23 Meaning And Begged Him Much

and begged him much, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay your hands on her, that she may be made healthy, and live.”

What does Mark 5:23 mean?

The tender receptive soul, the young feminine part that first wakes to spirit, sinks toward death when the lower nature rules unchecked. Jairus rules the synagogue, the outer place of learned belief, yet his own inner child of feeling lies dying at the edge, and belief alone cannot raise her.

The tender receptive soul, the young feminine part that first wakes to spirit, sinks toward death when the lower nature rules unchecked. Jairus rules the synagogue, the outer place of learned belief, yet his own inner child of feeling lies dying at the edge, and belief alone cannot raise her. The laying on of hands is the descent of the higher current down through the arms into the body where the little daughter waits, so contact, not doctrine, restores her.

That newly quickened soul revives only when the awakened self reaches down and touches it directly. The point of death is the exact moment before this inner life is either lost or turned back toward living, and the touch decides which way it goes.

Live Mark 5:23 today

  1. Something small in you has been fading, a hobby, a curiosity, a way you used to pray or think. Give it twenty minutes today, actual contact, not another plan to get back to it.
  2. Text or call someone who has gone quiet lately and ask how they really are, then stay on the line. Advice is cheap. Attention is the hand.
  3. When you are stretched thin and someone near you is clearly struggling, put the phone face down and sit with them for five minutes. Presence works when words do not.

What inside you is barely alive and waiting to be touched rather than discussed?

Zen

The teaching is passed outside words, heart to heart. Explanation can describe water, but only the cup reaching the mouth ends the thirst.

Sufism · Rumi

Rumi wrote that love is not learned from books but caught from a living presence. What is dying inside a person is revived by contact, not by argument.

Judaism · Hasidic teaching

The Baal Shem Tov taught that a soul can be lifted by a warm hand and a true word more surely than by a shelf of study.
