Mark 5:25 Meaning A Certain Woman

A certain woman, who had a discharge of blood for twelve years,

What does Mark 5:25 mean?

The woman is the soul, the feeling and receptive side of a person, and her long drain of blood is life-force steadily bleeding away, the vital energy leaking out instead of being held and raised. Blood is the carrier of that life, and to lose it continually is to be worn down at the root while every ordinary remedy fails.

The number 12 sets this loss across a full inner cycle, the whole set of powers involved, so the depletion is not partial but total, a complete round of the self spent in the leaking. This is the condition of the awakening soul before it touches the higher current: emptied by the constant outflow, reaching for the one contact that can close the wound and turn the loss back into gathered strength.

Live Mark 5:25 today

  1. Look at where your energy actually leaks today, the apps you open without deciding to, the arguments you reread. Close one of them for the rest of the day and feel what comes back.
  2. With one person who always leaves you drained, keep the exchange short and kind today instead of letting it run. You can care about someone without bleeding into every conversation.
  3. In a tense stretch at work, stop checking the thread every two minutes. Each check costs more than it gives, and the constant looking is the wound staying open.

Where has your life been quietly draining out, so steadily that you stopped seeing it?

Tao Te Ching 44

Excessive grasping wears a person out, and hoarding ends in loss. What is held lightly keeps its strength, what is spent constantly drains to nothing.

Buddhism

Craving is called a thirst that drinking never ends. Chasing one more thing keeps the person emptying while they believe they are filling.

Stoicism · Seneca

Seneca said we are not given a short life, we make it short by pouring it out in a hundred directions. The loss is not time taken from us but energy we never gathered.
