Mark 6:6 Meaning He Marveled Because of Their Unbelief

He marveled because of their unbelief. He went around the villages teaching.

What does Mark 6:6 mean?

What astonishes love is not sin but the mind's strange loyalty to its own imprisonment, the way it will defend the very belief that keeps it suffering. Unbelief is not a lack of information but a choice repeated, the ego's insistence that separation is real and that no other teacher exists.

What astonishes love is not sin but the mind's strange loyalty to its own imprisonment, the way it will defend the very belief that keeps it suffering. Unbelief is not a lack of information but a choice repeated, the ego's insistence that separation is real and that no other teacher exists. Yet love does not argue with a closed mind or wait for it to soften; it simply moves on to wherever a door stands open, and goes on teaching.

The response to refusal is not despair but continuance, for the truth loses nothing when it is declined. A mind that will not hear in one place is met in the next, and the teaching goes on until it is finally welcomed.

Villages: the many small openings in the mind still willing to receive, the scattered places where a door is not yet shut.

Live Mark 6:6 today

  1. Stop re-reading the message that did not get answered. You said your part well, and the silence is not an assignment.
  2. If someone shut down a conversation you cared about, let it rest and give your attention to a person who is actually open to you today.
  3. When a pitch or a proposal gets turned down, take the energy you would spend on the no and put it into the next try. Same work, new door.

Where are you still knocking when there is an open door a few steps away?
