Matthew 11:14 Meaning If You Are Willing to Receive It

If you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.

What does Matthew 11:14 mean?

Elias, Elijah, carries the meaning "my God is Yah," the awakened power that clears the way for a higher awareness to rise in a person. He returns not as a man walking back into the world but as a state of consciousness reappearing whenever the mind is ready to receive it.

Elias, Elijah, carries the meaning "my God is Yah," the awakened power that clears the way for a higher awareness to rise in a person. He returns not as a man walking back into the world but as a state of consciousness reappearing whenever the mind is ready to receive it. The one who comes before is the burning drive within that levels the crooked thinking and makes the ground even, so that the deeper Self can be recognized where it has always been standing.

The words "if ye will receive it" set the whole condition inside the listener. What returns is a power in the body that most never welcome, and so it seems to have gone. The forerunner is your own quickened spirit preparing you to know the Christ that is already within.

Live Matthew 11:14 today

  1. Spend five minutes today with the idea that nothing is missing from you, only unrecognized. Do not try to feel anything; just stop looking elsewhere.
  2. Let one person today say the thing you usually brush off, the hard observation, the compliment you deflect. Receiving it is the whole practice, and you cannot receive it with your arms crossed.
  3. When something goes wrong this week, treat it as the straightening rather than the interruption. The crooked thinking it exposes is exactly what was in the way.

What have I been waiting to receive that is already here, just unwelcomed?

Hinduism

The teaching returns whenever a mind is ready for it, not on a calendar. What seems to be an arrival is really a recognition of what was already standing there.

Zen

Huineng told his hearers that the awakening is not received from outside; it is seen in one's own nature. The gate opens from your side or not at all.

What you have been searching for has been looking out through your own eyes the whole time. The clearing that lets you see it comes from a fire already burning in you.
