Matthew 12:28 Meaning But If I by the Spirit

But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then God’s Kingdom has come upon you.

What does Matthew 12:28 mean?

What casts out fear is never a stronger fear but the presence of love, and where love is welcomed the ego's whole shadow world has no place to stand. The mind does not fight its demons; it sees they were never anything, and in that seeing they are gone, for they lived only on the belief that gave them room.

Christian Psychology

What casts out fear is never a stronger fear but the presence of love, and where love is welcomed the ego's whole shadow world has no place to stand. The mind does not fight its demons; it sees they were never anything, and in that seeing they are gone, for they lived only on the belief that gave them room.

So the kingdom is no distant reward but the mind's return to what it always was, the moment it lets a different teacher look. Healing is not an enemy defeated but the quiet arrival of a truth that leaves no enemy behind. Heaven was only ever a way of seeing.

Devils: the fearful thoughts the ego manufactures, the private terrors that vanish when the mind no longer believes in them. Kingdom of God: the mind restored to wholeness, the natural state that returns the instant love is chosen over fear.

EGO & BEING

Ego v. Being

The devils are not creatures somewhere out there. They are the tormented movements of the mind, the pain-body that feeds on suffering and mistakes itself for you. When awareness enters, when the Spirit of Being touches that darkness, the compulsion loses its grip. It cannot survive in the light of your conscious presence.

There is no waiting in this. The kingdom does not arrive on some distant day; it has already come unto you. It is the peace you feel the instant the noise of the mind grows still, here now, needing only that you become present enough to notice it.

Live Matthew 12:28 today

  1. When a worry starts circling tonight, do not argue with it or try to talk yourself out of it. Just let it sit there while you keep doing the dishes, and watch how little it actually weighs once you stop feeding it.
  2. With someone who has been short with you lately, try being warm first instead of waiting to see if they deserve it. You are not rewarding them, you are refusing to keep the cold thing alive.
  3. In a meeting where you feel defensive and your pulse picks up, pick kindness as your first move instead of your last resort. Say the generous version of what you were about to say and feel the room change.

What fear am I still trying to fight, when I could simply stop believing in it?

Hatred has never once been ended by hatred. It ends only when met with something that is not hatred at all, and this is the oldest law there is.

A dark room is not emptied of darkness by argument. Bring in a lamp and there was never anything there to remove.
