Matthew 12:29 Meaning Or How Can One Enter Into
Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man, and plunder his goods, unless he first bind the strong man? Then he will plunder his house.

Matthew 12:29 · World English Bible
Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man, and plunder his goods, unless he first bind the strong man? Then he will plunder his house.
The ego seems strong only because the mind keeps guard over its possessions, its grievances and defenses and the identity built from them. Nothing can be taken from that house while the one who rules it stands unbound, for its strength is entirely the strength of belief.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
The ego seems strong only because the mind keeps guard over its possessions, its grievances and defenses and the identity built from them. Nothing can be taken from that house while the one who rules it stands unbound, for its strength is entirely the strength of belief.
To undo the ego is not to storm it but to still the one who holds the door. When the mind lays down its need to defend, the whole hoard of fearful thoughts is loosed at once, and what looked like plunder was only the release of things never worth keeping. The strong man was strong only while feared.
Strong man: the ego enthroned in the mind, seeming powerful only because the mind defends it. House: the fortress of grievances and defenses the ego guards, emptied the moment its keeper is stilled. Goods: the false treasures of judgment and specialness the mind hoards, given up without loss when the ego is bound.
Christian Psychology lens
What am I guarding so carefully that I have never asked whether it is worth keeping?
The one who overcomes others has force, but the one who overcomes themselves has real strength. Nothing outside needs conquering once the inside is quiet.
No one can harm you without your agreement. Take away the judgment that something is an injury, and the injury is gone with it.
The mind unguarded is your worst opponent, and the same mind stilled is your closest friend. Everything turns on which of the two you let it be.
