PROTESTANT
God's reign arrives as a crop someone planted, and the planting is His doing, not a program people mount for Him. Heaven here stands in for God himself, so the rule in question is His own and not a region on a map.
A comparison put to a crowd without explanation leaves the hearers to sit with it. The field is the sower's own, so the harvest belongs to him. Sowing means a long stretch when nothing shows, so God's work can look like bare ground while it is under way.

CATHOLIC
God's reign is planted in ordinary ground and left to grow slowly, which is a hard thing for people who want holiness to arrive all at once. The seed is good. The field is the world, and the Church within it, and neither will look pure while the growing season lasts.
Catholic teaching has always resisted the demand for a spotless visible Church here and now. Wheat and weeds share the same soil, and pulling too eagerly tears up both. Patience here is not indifference to evil. It is trust that the harvest belongs to the one who sowed, and that he can tell the difference better than we can.

EGO & BEING
The kingdom of heaven is likened to good seed sown in a field. The field is your own inner ground, the depth of Being beneath the noise of thought. And the seed is presence, an awakened awareness placed quietly within you, waiting.
You do not have to force it into growth or manufacture it with effort of the mind. A seed grows in stillness, in the dark, unhurried and unwatched. So it is with the consciousness planted in you: give it space and silence, and it unfolds of its own accord into the awakened life it already holds.

ESOTERIC
The kingdom of heaven is the raised state of consciousness within a person, and the field is that same person's own inner ground where every thought takes root. The good seed is the clear, high thought planted by the awareness that sows deliberately, and it is dropped into the soil of a single mind and body. Heaven is not a distant place reached after death but the condition of the field when what grows in it has been sown with care.
The man who sows is the aware self tending its own interior, and the harvest that follows will be nothing but what the ground was given. Whatever a person plants in the quiet of the mind is exactly what comes up in the life.
Kingdom of heaven: the elevated state of awareness that a person can reach inside the body, not a place after death. Good seed: the clear high thoughts deliberately planted in the mind. Field: the inner ground of a single person where every thought takes root and grows.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY
The highest possible state of being is compared to a man planting good seed, and that choice of image is the whole teaching. Heaven is not handed down finished. It has to be sown, cultivated, and waited on, the way meaning itself accrues around a person who tends it. What a man scatters into the ground of his life determines what rises there later. The seed has to be good, chosen with care, or the harvest turns against him.
The field is the ordered world, and the sower is anyone who acts inside it toward something better. Aim at the good and plant accordingly. A man who sows resentment or grievance reaps exactly that, dressed up as righteousness, and little is worse than a wrong justified by a claim to virtue. What you deliberately put down is what you will one day have to live among.
Protestant lens
What in my life might be growing right now in a way I cannot yet see?
The way does nothing visible, yet everything gets done. What looks like empty stillness is the work already in motion.
The practice is not a ladder you climb toward a result. You sit, and the sitting itself is already the thing, even on the days it seems to produce nothing.
Do the work that is yours and release your claim on the harvest. The fruit was never yours to schedule.
