which, when it was filled, they drew up on the beach. They sat down, and gathered the good into containers, but the bad they threw away.

What does Matthew 13:48 mean?

When the inner net fills, a sorting happens in a person: what is good, which is god with the letter o set inside, is kept and gathered into vessels, while the rest is let go. The sea is the deep truth a person draws from, and the shore is the point of stillness where the harvest is separated and held.

When the inner net fills, a sorting happens in a person: what is good, which is god with the letter o set inside, is kept and gathered into vessels, while the rest is let go. The sea is the deep truth a person draws from, and the shore is the point of stillness where the harvest is separated and held.

The vessels are the bodily centers ready to receive and store the divine, and this is the work of drawing up the deep and keeping only what carries the light. Practically, a person who fishes the depths in meditation reaches a moment of settling where the real is retained within and the empty is released.

Sea: the deep truth a person draws upon in inward meditation Shore: the point of stillness where the drawn-up harvest is sorted and held Good: god with the letter o placed inside, the divine element kept and gathered Vessels: the inner centers of the body prepared to receive and hold the divine

Live Matthew 13:48 today

  1. Before bed, go back over the day and keep one thing: a sentence someone said, a small kindness, a moment when you felt awake. Let the rest of it, the arguments you rehearsed, the thing you wish you had said, just go.
  2. After a long talk with a friend or your partner, pick out the one true thing they said and say it back to them. The rest of the conversation can fall away. That one line is worth keeping.
  3. When your phone has filled up with messages and alerts, sit down with it on purpose. Two or three deserve a real answer. Clear the others without guilt and without reading them twice.

What have I been carrying around that I already know is not worth keeping?
