Matthew 14:20 · World English Bible
They all ate, and were filled. They took up twelve baskets full of that which remained left over from the broken pieces.
That everyone is filled and still there is more left over is not a wonder of arithmetic but the plain nature of love, which cannot be depleted by being spent. The mind had feared that meeting one need would leave the next unmet, and instead finds that what is given from abundance returns increased, so that the end of the giving holds more than its beginning.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
That everyone is filled and still there is more left over is not a wonder of arithmetic but the plain nature of love, which cannot be depleted by being spent. The mind had feared that meeting one need would leave the next unmet, and instead finds that what is given from abundance returns increased, so that the end of the giving holds more than its beginning.
The baskets gathered up are the proof kept for the doubting mind: see that nothing was lost. What love pours out it does not deplete, and the leftover fullness is there to teach the part of you still afraid of lack that it was never poor. You cannot give love away, because in giving it you learn how much of it you are.
Fragments: the surplus of love that remains when every need has been met. Twelve baskets: the full and gathered proof that giving does not empty the giver.

ESOTERIC
The multitude fed and filled is the whole fourfold nature of a person nourished at once, every level of the body satisfied from a single inward source rather than from the world outside. What is eaten does not come from the field or the market; it rises from within, and the filling is complete because the supply is the inner life itself, which never runs short when the higher self breaks and shares it. The gathering of what remains says nothing is lost in this feeding, for the abundance overflows the need.
The number 12 is the round of the zodiac, the full circle of powers that governs the body and the year, and the 12 baskets carry the surplus into every one of those governing forces. When a person is fed from the inner spring, the completion is total, spread through the entire wheel of the nature so that no part is left hungry.
Baskets: vessels of the body that hold the inner nourishment once it overflows the immediate need 12: the complete zodiacal circle, the full set of powers that rule the body and the year
Christian Psychology lens
What have I been guarding, as if I only had a little of it?
Love extended outward in all directions, without limit, is described as boundless precisely because it cannot be used up by being sent.
The greatest fullness looks like emptiness. What seems spent is the very thing that is inexhaustible.
Fullness taken from fullness, and fullness still remains. What is whole is not reduced by what is drawn out of it.
