Matthew 22:28 Meaning In the Resurrection Therefore
In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her.

Matthew 22:28 · World English Bible
In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her.
The question assumes the body is the person, that a spirit is owned the way a wife is owned, passed hand to hand and finally claimed by one. But resurrection is not a corpse standing up on some far day; it is a fact of consciousness happening now, the waking of the higher mind inside the temple you already are.

ESOTERIC
The question assumes the body is the person, that a spirit is owned the way a wife is owned, passed hand to hand and finally claimed by one. But resurrection is not a corpse standing up on some far day; it is a fact of consciousness happening now, the waking of the higher mind inside the temple you already are. When that waking comes, the marriages of the flesh dissolve, for they belonged to the body, and the body is only the housing.
The 7 who each held her are the flesh reaching for completion and never reaching it, full turns that still leave the spirit unclaimed. The woman is spirit, and spirit belongs to no owner. In the risen state she is wife to none of them, because ownership falls away with the body that imagined it.
7: the number of completion, the full round the flesh runs while still failing to hold the spirit Woman: the spirit within, which no body can own or hand on to another Resurrection: the waking of the higher consciousness inside the living temple, not a body rising on a distant day
Esoteric lens
Who in your life have you quietly started treating as yours?
The one who does the work and does not claim it keeps everything, while the one who grasps loses even what he held. Ownership is the one move that always costs.
The teaching is that nothing in experience can rightly be called mine, and the suffering is in the claiming rather than in the thing claimed. What you love is not a thing to be held.
A man who hides his boat in a creek will still lose it, but the one who hides the world in the world loses nothing. Holding tight is the only way to lose.
