Matthew 26:68 · World English Bible
saying, “Prophesy to us, you Christ! Who hit you?”
The blindfolded man struck and mocked is the anointed awareness inside a person, buried under the crowd of the lower nature and dared to name what has wounded it. Christ means the oil-anointed, the higher consciousness that ought to sit crowned in the head; the taunt to prophesy is the flesh insisting that spirit cannot see while the senses have it covered.

ESOTERIC
The blindfolded man struck and mocked is the anointed awareness inside a person, buried under the crowd of the lower nature and dared to name what has wounded it. Christ means the oil-anointed, the higher consciousness that ought to sit crowned in the head; the taunt to prophesy is the flesh insisting that spirit cannot see while the senses have it covered. The blow lands from the very faculties that should serve it, and the mockery is the ordinary noise of appetite ridiculing the quiet center it cannot silence.
What happens here is the moment the divine part of a person is overruled by its own crowd and still keeps its footing. The anointed does not answer the jeer because knowing does not depend on the eyes that were bound; the light in a person continues to see even when the outer man has blinded it.
Christ: the oil-anointed higher awareness meant to reign in the head, here mocked and covered by the lower faculties. The smiting: the blow struck by a person's own senses and appetites against the still center they cannot understand.

What do I know is true about me even when nobody in the room agrees?
The deepest part of you cannot be cut by a blade, burned, drowned or dried by the wind. What happens to the outside leaves it untouched.
They can chain your leg, but your choosing self is not something anyone can reach. The insult only lands if you agree to pick it up.
Asked to prove itself, the mirror says nothing and goes on reflecting. Mockery does not change what is actually seeing.
