CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

The deceitful work is the ego's whole project, building a world of guilt and calling it real. Its wage is emptiness, because a thing made of illusion can pay only in illusion. To sow righteousness is to plant the single true thought, that the other is innocent and separation never happened, and this planting cannot fail. What is sown in truth returns as truth. The reward is sure because it was never a bargain with the world but the mind reaping what it always was.

Fear labors and gathers nothing. A mind that plants innocence harvests the peace that innocence already is.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

Clinical Psychology

The wicked man's wage is deceitful because it arrives quickly and rots in the hand. He has arranged the world to pay him now, by fraud, by the shortcut, by taking what was not offered. The payment turns out to be counterfeit the moment he tries to live on it. What comes without earning cannot bear weight.

Sowing righteousness is the harder covenant with time. A man buries something good in the ground of the present and does not see it again for a long while, trusting that reality rewards what is planted honestly. His reward is called sure for the plainest reason. Reality is built to honor what is planted honestly, so the harvest holds when the deceitful payout has already crumbled. Plant the right seed and wait, and the ground keeps its promise.

  1. When your phone lights up with something that pulls you toward resentment, pause before you react and plant one quiet sentence instead: this person is not my enemy. You are not being nice, you are choosing what grows in you.
  2. Pick one person today, maybe someone in a group chat you have quietly written off, and send them something kind with nothing attached to it. No hint, no hope they change, just the planting.
  3. In a meeting where someone takes credit or cuts you off, let the urge to score a point pass through you without being spent. Say what is useful and nothing more, and feel how little you actually lost.

What am I planting in myself when I decide, in a half second, how to see someone?

Dhammapada

Whatever a person plants in the mind, that is what grows and ripens. A deed born of a clear heart brings its own happiness, and nothing outside has to deliver it.

Bhagavad Gita

Act without grasping at the result, because the grasping belongs to a false sense of being a separate doer. The right action carries its fruit inside itself.

Stoicism · Marcus Aurelius

No one can hand you a reward for being good, because being good is already the reward. The mind that wanted payment missed what it had.
