Proverbs 11:9 Meaning With His Mouth the Godless Man Destroys

With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.

What does Proverbs 11:9 mean?

When a mind speaks to wound, it believes it is emptying its guilt onto the brother before it, ruining him with a word so the self may feel clean. Yet the neighbour is not truly harmed, for he is a figure in the same dream, and every attack aimed outward lands only on the one who throws it.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

When a mind speaks to wound, it believes it is emptying its guilt onto the brother before it, ruining him with a word so the self may feel clean. Yet the neighbour is not truly harmed, for he is a figure in the same dream, and every attack aimed outward lands only on the one who throws it.

What sets free is a truer sight, the recognition that the other was innocent all along and the fault was a shadow cast by the mind's own fear. To see him guiltless is the deliverance, and it releases the seer in the same moment it releases the seen.

Neighbour: the brother the mind faces, seen as a figure in the same dream onto whom guilt is cast or in whom innocence is recognized Mouth: the instrument of the chosen teacher, giving voice to attack when fear rules and to blessing when love does

Holding onto anger to throw at someone is like picking up a hot coal to hurl: the hand that carries it is the one that burns.

True words are not showy and showy words are not true. The one who wounds with speech has already lost the thing he was defending.
