Proverbs 14:11 Meaning The House of the Wicked Will Be

The house of the wicked will be overthrown, but the tent of the upright will flourish.

What does Proverbs 14:11 mean?

Two dwellings stand for two ways of thinking, and each lasts exactly as long as its foundation is true. The house built by the ego is raised on separation and guilt, and because that ground is imaginary the whole structure must one day fall; nothing founded on a lie can finally stand.

Two dwellings stand for two ways of thinking, and each lasts exactly as long as its foundation is true. The house built by the ego is raised on separation and guilt, and because that ground is imaginary the whole structure must one day fall; nothing founded on a lie can finally stand. What the mind built out of fear it can also watch dissolve.

The other dwelling is the mind aligned with love, and it thrives because it rests on what is real. This is not a reward given from outside but the simple outcome of foundation: what is built on truth endures. Choose the ground you build upon, for the thoughts raised on love are the only ones that last.

House of the wicked: the mind's structure of thought built on separation and guilt, resting on a false ground and destined to fall Tabernacle of the upright: the mind that dwells with love, thriving because it is founded on what is real

Live Proverbs 14:11 today

  1. Look at one thing you have been building lately, a habit, a project, a plan, and ask what it is actually resting on. Fear of falling behind is sand.
  2. Spend time today with someone where nothing is being gotten from either side. That is the kind of ground that holds.
  3. When a decision at work pulls you toward the easy shortcut, ask whether you would be fine with this being visible to everyone. Build it so the answer is yes.
