Proverbs 18:22 Meaning Whoever Finds a Wife Finds a Good

Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh.

What does Proverbs 18:22 mean?

The wife is not a person acquired but a part of the mind recovered, the tender perception fear had exiled and love now welcomes home. A mind divided against itself lives in scarcity, and to find her is to find the piece it had disowned, so what was split begins to be whole again.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

The wife is not a person acquired but a part of the mind recovered, the tender perception fear had exiled and love now welcomes home. A mind divided against itself lives in scarcity, and to find her is to find the piece it had disowned, so what was split begins to be whole again.

The favor that follows is not a prize granted from above but the natural peace of a mind no longer at war with itself. When the gentle within is joined rather than banished, the mind rests in what it always was. Wholeness is the good thing, and wholeness is its own blessing.

Wife: the gentle, joined perception the mind had disowned and now recovers, the tender half of itself that fear exiled and love welcomes home

Live Proverbs 18:22 today

  1. Let yourself be tender about something today without talking yourself out of it, a song in the car, a memory, a bit of good news. You do not have to explain it to anyone.
  2. With one person, drop the competent version of yourself for five minutes. Say the thing you actually feel rather than the managed summary.
  3. When you catch yourself being hard on the softer part of you, the part that got hurt or hoped too much, speak to it like you would to a friend. That part is not the problem.

What part of myself have I been treating as something to hide?

Taoism · Tao Te Ching 28

Strength that has forgotten gentleness is only half a person, and the wise keep both, holding the soft alongside the firm. Wholeness, not hardness, is the goal.

Hinduism · Upanishads

What we take for two is one looking at itself, and the search outward is really a return. Finding is remembering something never actually lost.

Sufism · Rumi

What you are seeking has been seeking you, and the longing itself is the proof you are already joined. The reunion was never between strangers.
