Proverbs 19:26 Meaning He Who Robs His Father and Drives
He who robs his father and drives away his mother, is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.

Proverbs 19:26 · World English Bible
He who robs his father and drives away his mother, is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.
Father and mother stand for the strength and the tenderness already living within the mind, the twin sources from which its peace is drawn. When a mind squanders its own steadiness and drives out its own gentleness, it is attacking not two people but the ground it stands on, and the ruin it makes is felt as its own disgrace.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
Father and mother stand for the strength and the tenderness already living within the mind, the twin sources from which its peace is drawn. When a mind squanders its own steadiness and drives out its own gentleness, it is attacking not two people but the ground it stands on, and the ruin it makes is felt as its own disgrace.
The shame that follows is not a sentence handed down from outside. It is the ache of a mind that has turned against what sustains it and now believes the emptiness is deserved. The way back is to stop the attack and let the inner father and mother be received again as one's own.
Father: the part of the mind grounded in strength, the steady inner source of security. Mother: the part of the mind that holds tenderness and comfort, the gentleness the self is fed by. Son: the deciding mind, the chooser that can either honor its own sources or turn on them.
Christian Psychology lens
Which part of me, the steady one or the tender one, have I been treating as expendable?
Know the mother and you are safe your whole life. Lose the source and you wander, spending yourself on things that cannot hold you.
The practice begins with turning kindness toward yourself, because a heart that treats itself harshly has nothing warm left to offer anyone.
If I am not for myself, who will be for me? To abandon your own ground is not humility, it is ruin.
