Proverbs 2:20 Meaning So You May Walk in the Way
So you may walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.

Proverbs 2:20 · World English Bible
So you may walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
After the long warning about the road that leads to deadness, a gentler instruction arrives, and it is really an instruction in choosing a teacher. To walk in the way of good men is to let the mind be led by the thoughts that come from love rather than from fear, to keep company with the part of itself that already knows its innocence.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
After the long warning about the road that leads to deadness, a gentler instruction arrives, and it is really an instruction in choosing a teacher. To walk in the way of good men is to let the mind be led by the thoughts that come from love rather than from fear, to keep company with the part of itself that already knows its innocence.
The way and the paths are not places to be reached by effort. They are simply the direction a mind takes the moment it stops asking guilt for guidance and lets love show it where to step.
The way of good men: the current of thought that flows from love, the guidance a mind follows when it lets the gentler teacher lead The paths of the righteous: the steady movements of a mind that has accepted its own innocence, the walking that comes naturally once fear is set down

Pick someone you admire and keep them in mind, then ask what they would do here. We become like whatever we spend our attention on.
Good friendship is not half of the holy life, the Buddha said, it is the whole of it. Who walks beside you shapes where your feet go.
