CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

There is a wanting so honest it becomes a call, and this is the wanting that heals. A mind does not stumble upon truth idly; it asks for it with the whole of itself, as one cries out for what it cannot live without. The intensity is not desperation but sincerity, the ego's grip loosening as the mind admits what it truly wants.

To lift the voice is to make the desire known, to stop pretending the ego's substitutes will satisfy. What is asked for with this much of the heart is already being answered, for the asking is itself the turning toward love. A mind receives understanding in the measure that it genuinely asks.

Voice: the mind's open declaration of what it wants, the honest asking that turns it toward the truth it seeks.

Live Proverbs 2:3 today

  1. Sometime today, when you catch yourself scrolling for something you cannot name, put the phone down and say out loud what you actually want. Not the polished version, the real one.
  2. Ask someone a question you have been too proud to ask. A coworker who knows the thing you have been faking, a friend who sees you clearly, your partner about the thing you keep circling.
  3. In the middle of a hard meeting or a tense message thread, stop performing certainty. Say plainly, I do not understand this yet, help me see it, and let the room be quiet for a second.

What have I been pretending to already know, so I would not have to ask?

The same truth in other traditions

Rumi

The longing itself is the answer arriving. The ache in you calling for God was never separate from God's answer calling back.

Bhagavad Gita 4:34

Go to the one who knows and ask, humbly and sincerely. Understanding is given in proportion to the honesty of the asking, not the cleverness of the question.

Zen

A student asked to be taught and the teacher said, have you eaten? The one who truly wants to know keeps asking until the pretending stops.
