CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

Hearing love asks effort of a mind. It must lean toward the quiet Voice it has learned to ignore, tilting itself away from the loud insistence of fear. Wisdom does not shout over the ego; it waits for a mind that turns its attention on purpose.

And the leaning of attention is only half; the heart must follow. To apply the heart is to let the whole desire of a mind move in one direction, so that understanding becomes not an idea entertained but a life given over to it. Love is heard exactly to the degree a mind chooses to lean toward it.

Ear: the mind's willingness to receive, the inner listening that tilts toward the Voice for love. Heart: the seat of a mind's desire, the deep wanting that must be turned toward truth for understanding to take root.

Live Proverbs 2:2 today

  1. Give one small thing your whole attention today, your coffee, the walk from the car, the water on your hands. Nothing on in the background, just leaning in on purpose.
  2. In your next real conversation, listen with no reply forming. Let them finish, let a second pass, and only then speak. They will feel the difference before you do.
  3. When your mind is loudest, the racing drive home, the argument replaying at 11pm, stop fighting the noise and turn toward whatever quieter thing is underneath. It has been waiting, not shouting.

What have I been too loud to hear?
