Proverbs 2:7 Meaning He Lays Up Sound Wisdom

He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity,

What does Proverbs 2:7 mean?

What a mind will need is already stored for it, held in reserve by love the way a treasure is kept safe until the owner comes. Nothing must be invented under pressure; the resource is laid up in advance, and the mind aligned with love finds it exactly when it turns to look.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

What a mind will need is already stored for it, held in reserve by love the way a treasure is kept safe until the owner comes. Nothing must be invented under pressure; the resource is laid up in advance, and the mind aligned with love finds it exactly when it turns to look.

And love is a shield, though not the kind that stops an arrow. It defends a mind by leaving it nothing to defend, for a mind walking in innocence has no guilt to be attacked and so meets no real enemy. The protection is not a wall against the world but the discovery that the world was never the threat.

Buckler: the shield love gives, protecting a mind not by blocking attack but by dissolving the guilt that made attack seem possible.

Live Proverbs 2:7 today

  1. Stop rehearsing the hard conversation in your head on the commute. What you need will be there when you are actually in the room; the rehearsal is only fear pretending to be preparation.
  2. When someone takes a shot at you today, in a group chat or across the kitchen table, try not defending yourself for one round. See how much of the fight was yours to supply.
  3. Before a meeting you are dreading, skip the mental armor. Walk in with nothing to protect and you will find there is far less coming at you than you expected.

What are you defending that cannot actually be harmed?

Nothing outside you can harm what you actually are. When you stop handing the world the power to injure you, the injury stops arriving.
