Proverbs 22:28 · World English Bible
Don’t move the ancient boundary stone which your fathers have set up.
There is a boundary older than the ego's inventions, a truth set in the mind before the dream of separation began: that every creation is innocent and joined to its Source. The ego is forever shifting this line, redrawing where love ends and fear begins, moving the marker so that some are inside its favor and others cast out.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
There is a boundary older than the ego's inventions, a truth set in the mind before the dream of separation began: that every creation is innocent and joined to its Source. The ego is forever shifting this line, redrawing where love ends and fear begins, moving the marker so that some are inside its favor and others cast out. Each such adjustment is an attack, a claim that innocence can be reassigned by judgment.
To leave the ancient landmark where it stands is to stop rearranging who deserves love. A mind that keeps this boundary honors the truth it did not make and cannot move, and finds that what was set in the beginning still holds, unshaken by every dream of change.
Ancient landmark: the truth of innocence set in the mind before separation, the boundary the ego keeps trying to move by judgment. Fathers: the source of that truth, what established the mind's worth before the dream and cannot be revised.
Christian Psychology lens
Where have I been moving the line of who deserves my kindness?
The way that holds everything was there before the naming began. Your names and categories came later, and they do not change what is.
That same self is in you, and in the one you are tempted to leave outside. The line you are redrawing runs through nothing real.
You are asked for the face you had before you were born, before the sorting into worthy and unworthy ever started.
