Proverbs 24:20 Meaning For There Will Be No Reward

for there will be no reward to the evil man. The lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.

What does Proverbs 24:20 mean?

Fear promises a reward it can never deliver, because everything built on separation ends in nothing. A mind that follows the ego chases a light that was never lit from within, a small flame of specialness that seems to shine only against the dark it imagines around it.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

Fear promises a reward it can never deliver, because everything built on separation ends in nothing. A mind that follows the ego chases a light that was never lit from within, a small flame of specialness that seems to shine only against the dark it imagines around it.

Such a light goes out, not as punishment sent from above, but because nothing real was ever feeding it. The going out takes nothing true away. It only clears the room for the light that no illusion can put out.

The evil man: the ego, the belief in separation that offers rewards and delivers emptiness. The candle of the wicked: the borrowed, flickering light of specialness, which shines by comparison and burns out because nothing real feeds it.

  1. When you catch yourself refreshing something for the small hit of being seen, a view count, a like, a reply, put the phone face down and sit still for a minute. Watch how little actually goes missing.
  2. In a conversation today, let go of the comparison you were about to make. You do not need to be a bit further along than the person in front of you to be worth sitting with.
  3. If a win at work gets taken from you or handed to someone else, let the sting pass through without rebuilding your case. Ask what in you was actually fed by that win, and whether it was ever real food.

What have I been keeping lit by comparison, and what would be left in me if it went out?
