Proverbs 24:34 Meaning So Your Poverty Will Come
so your poverty will come as a robber and your want as an armed man.

Proverbs 24:34 · World English Bible
so your poverty will come as a robber and your want as an armed man.
What the mind postpones does not stay away; it returns wearing the shape of threat. Poverty and want are the felt emptiness of a mind that kept choosing sleep over love, and they seem to arrive from outside, like a stranger on the road or a soldier at the gate, when they are only the sum of many small refusals to decide.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
What the mind postpones does not stay away; it returns wearing the shape of threat. Poverty and want are the felt emptiness of a mind that kept choosing sleep over love, and they seem to arrive from outside, like a stranger on the road or a soldier at the gate, when they are only the sum of many small refusals to decide. The ego always dresses its own consequences as an attack, so guilt can be laid on the world.
Seen truly, nothing is marching against the mind. The lack it fears is only the harvest of its own delay, and the power that let it drift can be turned, in a single instant, to waking.
Traveller: the felt lack that seems to arrive from elsewhere, emptiness disguised as a visitor from outside the mind. Armed man: fear's own consequences dressed as an assailant, the mind's neglect returning wearing the face of threat.
Christian Psychology lens
What feels like it is happening to me that I actually postponed into being?
Your own actions follow you the way a shadow follows a walker. Nothing arrives from outside that you did not help set in motion.
Action has its own fruit, and the fruit ripens whether or not you watch the tree.
What you blame on fate is often your own long neglect, arriving on schedule and wearing a stranger's clothes.
