Proverbs 28:27 Meaning One Who Gives to the Poor Has
One who gives to the poor has no lack; but one who closes his eyes will have many curses.

Proverbs 28:27 · World English Bible
One who gives to the poor has no lack; but one who closes his eyes will have many curses.
Giving to the poor is the mind discovering that it keeps only what it shares, for love does not divide when it is extended but increases, and the one who gives freely proves to itself that it was never lacking. Withholding springs from the ego's fear of scarcity, and that fear is the only real poverty there is.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
Giving to the poor is the mind discovering that it keeps only what it shares, for love does not divide when it is extended but increases, and the one who gives freely proves to itself that it was never lacking. Withholding springs from the ego's fear of scarcity, and that fear is the only real poverty there is.
To hide the eyes is to refuse to see a brother's need, and what returns is not a curse sent from above but the mind's own guilt come home, the inevitable ache of a self that has looked away from love. A mind that opens its sight and gives is spared this, for it learns that supply and the self are one.
Eyes: the mind's willingness to see, able either to look upon a brother's need with love or to turn away and shut itself in its own imagined lack
Christian Psychology lens
What have I been looking away from because seeing it would ask something of me?
The one who gives away is not emptied, because what is given is not the kind of thing that runs out. Clutching is the only real poverty.
Generosity loosens the fist that was never actually holding anything. The giver is the first one freed.
Do not turn your face from the person in front of you. Looking away costs you more than giving ever would.
