Proverbs 28:28 Meaning When the Wicked Rise
When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous thrive.

Proverbs 28:28 · World English Bible
When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous thrive.
The rising of the wicked pictures a mind under the ego's rule, when fear seems to hold the throne and every gentler thought retreats into hiding, afraid to be seen. Nothing has truly gained power; it only feels that way when the mind has handed its allegiance to fear and forgotten it can choose again.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
The rising of the wicked pictures a mind under the ego's rule, when fear seems to hold the throne and every gentler thought retreats into hiding, afraid to be seen. Nothing has truly gained power; it only feels that way when the mind has handed its allegiance to fear and forgotten it can choose again.
When that reign perishes, which is to say when the mind withdraws its belief from fear, the thoughts that were in hiding come forward and multiply. The righteous increase not because an enemy was defeated in battle but because the false ruler was never real, and a mind that stops fearing it finds the whole inner company of love that had only been waiting for the fear to pass.
Wicked: the fearful thoughts that seem to seize power in a mind given over to the ego, ruling only as long as belief is lent to them Righteous: the loving thoughts that hide while fear appears to reign, then come forward and multiply the moment the mind stops fearing
Christian Psychology lens
What have I been hiding from that has only the power I keep handing it?
The violent and the forceful look powerful and do not last. What is soft and low outlives them without ever fighting.
Fear rules only as long as you feed it attention. Stop believing in it and the mind fills again with what was always there.
We suffer more in imagination than in reality, and the tyrant we dread is mostly made of our own dread. When it passes, we see there was no throne.
